Escalation of the Conflict between Pakistan and India

Tensions between Pakistan and India are rising, with Pakistan accusing India of provoking conflicts in Kashmir and Punjab. The escalation comes after 31 people died in airstrikes carried out by the Indian air force, raising concerns about a possible intensification of the conflict between these two nuclear nations.

Pakistan expressed its frustration over the lack of response from the international community to its requests for an independent investigation into the attacks in Kashmir. Although historically the United States has mediated between India and Pakistan, the Trump administration showed reluctance to get involved, according to statements from Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar.

The Indian government, for its part, accuses Pakistan of facilitating the attacks through Islamist militant groups. In an interview with The Guardian, Dar emphasized Pakistan's determination to defend its dignity, marking a milestone as it is the first time since 1971 that Indian missiles have struck the Punjab province.

In response to the situation, Sharif's government authorized the army to act to defend the country's sovereignty. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh defended the operation by justifying it as a response to those who attacked innocent citizens. Pakistan has rejected accusations of having terrorist camps in the attacked areas, asserting that the attacks were unjustified and caused the deaths of innocent civilians.

During a parliamentary session, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan's right to respond to Indian aggressions. The Kashmir region has been the epicenter of disputes between India and Pakistan since 1947, having been the scene of three wars between the two nations.

The international community, including countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, China, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, has urged for a rapid de-escalation of the conflict. Meanwhile, clashes along the Line of Control continue with reports of casualties on both sides.

In a televised speech, the Pakistani Prime Minister vowed to avenge the martyrs fallen in the recent Indian airstrikes, which resulted in the deaths of 31 people, including children. The situation remains volatile and concerning, with potential repercussions for stability not only regionally but also globally.
