Pakistani security forces announced on Thursday that they killed 23 militants in two operations near the Afghan border. In the first operation, in the Kurram district, 12 militants were eliminated, and in the second, in the North Waziristan district, 11 militants. The operations were conducted in response to the increasing militant activity in the region. "We dealt a significant blow to their infrastructure and command," stated a security forces official. Pakistani authorities continue their fight against terrorism, particularly in the border areas with Afghanistan.
