In the city of Ketta in the southwest of Pakistan, armed unknown individuals killed seven passengers who were traveling on a bus heading to Lahore in the province of Balochistan. All the victims were from the Punjab province in the center of the country. The murder occurred on a highway connecting Barkhan with the Dera Ghazi Khan area in the southern part of Punjab.
"We still do not know who is behind the attack, and the motive for the killings is unclear," said the spokesperson for the police commissioner, Vakar Khurshid. According to him, armed men stopped several buses and cars, checked the identities of the passengers, after which they forced the seven of them to exit the bus and opened fire.
Terrorist acts of this nature pose a serious threat to the safety of the population and require an adequate response from law enforcement agencies.
