The Pakistan Army announced on Tuesday that it has destroyed 30 insurgents in Southern Waziristan. The military operation was conducted following information about hiding militants in the area.

"According to the received information, about 30 militants, associated with terrorist activities, were located in the territory of Southern Waziristan. During the operation, carried out under the guidance of the top command, all militants were liquidated," reported the army representative.

The Southern Waziristan region is considered one of the largest strongholds of insurgents at the border of Pakistan with Afghanistan. It often carries out special operations aimed at dismantling bases and storage of militants.

"The army will continue to fight with terrorist elements and eliminate the threat of terrorism in the region," added the military representative.

The Pakistani army regularly conducts operations to eliminate militants in the tribal areas of the country, where they can find hiding places and support.
