On Monday, an announcement was made regarding the death of a policeman from gunfire in Pakistan while he was accompanying a team involved in vaccination. The police reported that the incident occurred during the operation to provide medical vaccinations in one of the districts of the country. The police escort was with the medical personnel who were engaged in vaccinating citizens. Armed assailants targeted the vehicle in which the staff were located and opened fire. Unfortunately, one of the policemen sustained serious injuries as a result of the shooting and succumbed on the way to the hospital. Other team members were not injured. Currently, there is no information about the arrest of the suspects in this incident. Authorities have begun an investigation into what happened in order to determine the identity of the shooters and their motives. Incidents targeting medical personnel involved in vaccination efforts have raised serious concerns about safety amid the pandemic in the country.
