The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) announced today that it shot down two Indian jets in response to airstrikes carried out by India the night before, according to state broadcaster PTV News, citing security sources. "Pakistani forces are providing an appropriate response to Indian aggression," stated a military declaration, confirming that all PAF aircraft involved in the operation returned safely.
A witness in Rawalpindi, an important city in the eastern province of Punjab in Pakistan, reported seeing a missile in the air that was apparently launched from Pakistani territory. Previously, at least three civilians, including a child, lost their lives and another 14 people were injured the same day as a result of missiles fired by India against five different locations in Pakistan, including Kashmir, a region controlled by Pakistan.
