The Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has strongly condemned the attack that caused the death of at least 11 people and left six injured in the Harnai district of Balochistan. "Those ruthless elements responsible for harming the lives and properties of innocent and unarmed citizens will have to pay a very high price," said Sharif, highlighting active efforts to eradicate the terrorist threat in the country.
The attack, which has not yet been claimed by any group, occurred this Friday when a bomb exploded near a vehicle in the Shahrag area of Harnai. The deputy commissioner of Harnai, Hazrat Wali, confirmed that the explosion of an improvised explosive device placed by the roadside struck a group of workers heading to a coal mine.
Following the explosion, police, security forces, and rescue teams quickly mobilized to the scene of the incident. The bodies of the victims and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital, where it is reported that a couple is in critical condition. The bomb was detonated by a remote control device, according to Deputy Commissioner Wali.
Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate those responsible for this terrorist act that has mourned the Harnai community. "I express my deepest condolences for the death of the miners and condemn this cowardly attack," said Prime Minister Sharif, who assured that justice will be served and measures will be taken to ensure the safety of citizens.
